Hi, I’m Anna.
I’m a home baker with a full time job, a few chooks and two lemon trees that won’t quit.
I’m a classic introvert and a homebody. I’d much rather quietly get stuff done than talk to a camera. So you’ll find plenty of recipes here, and very little of my face.
I spent a lot of weekends getting these loaves right. If they make your mornings a bit easier too, that’s a win.

Why I bake these
I realised I needed to eat a lot more protein and fibre every day. Breakfast was the hardest meal to get right.
For years I skipped it. It felt like the easiest way to cut calories. I’d run on coffee and hold out as long as I could. Then, I was blindsided by perimenopause. I quickly went down the rabbit hole learning about what it means to get older as a woman. I learned how much breakfast matters.
I’d spent so long trying to make myself smaller. I should have been making myself stronger.
The usual breakfast doesn’t make it easy. Most cereal is sugar. Eggs are great, but I can’t face them every morning, and I don’t always have time. Greek yoghurt gets you part of the way, but it can’t do it alone.
I wanted something quick, easy and properly tasty. Something that does serious work before the day gets going. Something I could bake in bulk, freeze in slices and grab without thinking.
I won’t pretend I feel different slice by slice. That’s not how it works. But I pay close attention to what I eat now. It’s a deliberate investment, and these loaves are part of it. High protein. High fibre. Low fuss. No sugar rush to start the day.
I want to carry myself into the second half of my life stronger than I would have otherwise. That’s worth a Sunday afternoon of baking.
And now I look forward to breakfast.
